John Marrs (1814 - 1902)


Born: 11 May 1814 in Virginia
Died: 22 May 1902 in Pike County, Kentucky

He was in the war(?) & was captured by the enemy out east of Tazewell. Caught one day, and was tied to a tree with a rope attached to the fence. While they slept, he worked himself loose and walked away on his hands and feet as he got among a herd of hogs which were passing thru the enemy camp.
